This is one of my first posts but have had lots of PMS so i thought i would stick this up.
I bought this from a Ryan at Garage midnight - http://garage-midnight.myshopify.com/collections/engine-air-intakes/products/autotech_2-0tfsi_cai
First impressions -
Impressed, shame it doesnt come in a box, i always think things look better in boxs :happy2:
build quality is good, it comes with a k&n filter, and all attachments.
instructions are good, but pictures could be clearer.
Some pictures.

-
Hope to get it fitted tomorrow evening once iv finished a bit of work :)
-
Just looks like a smaller version of the Neuspeed
-
Any update on this I am very interested in getting one of these please
-
I know! I've been waiting too :signLOL:
-
The main section is almost identical to the Volant intake... except it stays narrow towards the filter... perhaps this would be better for low down torque.
-
This looks like a good bit of kit, a decent price aswell. Interested to see how you get on with it.

What do you think then regarding quality, price & whether it's a worthy upgrade from standard box, luke

Looks good for the money.
I'd question the supplier over fitment of the MAF, and ask them to see whether it screws up nice and tight, also does it come with a gasket for the MAF, so it seals well, otherwise it can whistle like an old fashioned kettle, lol.
I'd also see whether they have benched it for gains... you can do your own VCDS makeshift dyno, to test before and after for fun. :happy2:

Yh I've searched & awesome gti sell it for £145! Maybe worth dropping them an email. My standard box has the top bit of casing missing & the two screws that screw into the grill are missing/broken off! It was like it when I bought her. I've put a k&n panel filter in also
-
Has anyone fitted one then?
-
got one fitted to my k04, ryan can modify them for k04's, nice bit of kit, very tidy looking
-
Anyone know Ryan well enough to get a group buy offer?
-
Sounds like a plan

Had one on my golf, just sold it on ebay only had it for a month. Was an excellent intake wasnt to happy were it ended up as resting on the intercooler pipe, but for value for money it was an excellent purchase throttle defiantly felt alot better only reason i sold it was i was not to keen on the noise it produced..
But each to there own. the MAF doesnt come with a plate and i spoke to ryan about this but because of the rubber surround on the sensor it does clamp nice and tight !!
I might save up and buy an evoms next year with my stage 1 as starting to miss the whoosh a little
-
You didn't do a video of it by any chance, as I'm interested in one but would like to know the sound of it before buying one! Is it like the neuspeed as in annoyingly loud or quieter?

No i didnt was i did though ! it sounds very much like the neuspeed one i think from watching the vidoes but in real life i dont no.
-
Carbon copy of the neuspeed intake! Cheaper though :happy2:
-
Have you owned one mate?

Have you owned one mate?
I havnt't but I would imagine the noise would replicate the neuspeed intake.
-
How's the fitting on this intake? Any MAF issues?

Fitting was fine sits in the usual area same as neuspeeds. One, no Maf sensor problems at all :)
-
Good review of a good priced item. Maybe get one before my map.
-
Looks good for the price, but be prepared to lose low down torque for top end gains. I refitted the oe engine cover and found my car performed much better at stage 2+ with the oe paper filter. I wanted a fast road car rather than all out power.
-
Just fitted this to mine, ok quality, nice sound, not keen on the maf sensor fitment as it does quite sit straight and flat but this is nothing a needle file can't cure
-
had mine on since date of this post, but forgot i did this!
No issues atall to report so far!
sounds great, the maf screws on tight, but would like a gasket ideally...
I know Ryan so if interested i can ask for a group buy
-
I fitted one of these today and I can't complain at all
-
I bought the same intake, it's pretty noisy but seems to do the job, but it looks alitle cheap in comparison to others on the market(because it is I suppose) lol
-
Just bought one before mapping the car looking forward to seeing what it's like.
-
Happy to do a group buy with you guys if you would like, always happy to support a forum :happy2:
Same applies for the EVOMS kits, PCV deletes, Autotech ARB kits... mail me with what you are thinking. ryan@garagemidnight.com
