Hi everyone,
Thanks to v2brett for spotting my post over on UK-mkIVs and pointing me in the direction of this website - Some nice motors here, looks right up my street! I was loitering over at UK-mkIVs as I've had a 2003 Golf TDI for a while as a second car but it's just a runabout that is mostly used by my girlfriend and I've not really done much to it apart from chip it.
Meanwhile, I tend to change my main car quite often and since I moved back to the UK in 2003 I've had an Alfa GTV V6 (240bhp), a Volvo 850 T5-R (320bhp), an Alfa 156 V6, a BMW 330ci and most recently a Lotus Elise 111S (which I loved) but a couple of weeks ago I replaced the Elise with a MkV Golf GTI DSG as I needed something a little more sensible. It took me a while to find the right car and I'm pretty happy with the one I ended up buying, as it's in the right colour (black), already has 240bhp Bluefin upgrade and pretty much the right spec. However, I won't be happy until it's absolutely perfect and there are a few bits that I want to do so expect to see quite a few more posts from me!
For now here are a few of pictures of my new car:

Yep, of course black is the best colour for the GTI, and from what I've read here it's the fastest colour too! My car is very clean but not perfect, there are a couple of stonechips and a small parking scuff that my local Chipsaway guy will be seeing too and one of the wheels is kerbed badly enough to warrant a refurb at Lepsons, but other than that it's a very tidy car, 34k on the clock and one owner from new who I know personally as he works for me!
It already has a Stage 1 Bluefin map on it, but it really could do with a Stage 2 upgrade and it does feel pretty wobbly after the Elise so I might just have to stiffen things up a bit with a few suspension mods but my priority now is to get all the toys sorted out inside the car. As you can see in the photos, it doesn't have a MFSW which is annoying, I believe that's just a matter of adding the buttons instead of the blanking panels on the GTI wheel and recoding via VAG-Com but still not 100% sure, anyone else done this?.
Also, it has an Alpine IVA-W200Ri fitted at the moment which is just a bit, well, pikey for my liking. Whist it has the sat-nav and iPod options it doesn't look anything close to standard and has a faint whiff of Halfords about it. So, that'll be removed so I can fit an RNS-510 with iPod and bluetooth. Whilst I'm at it I think I'll retrofit cruise control too and ultimately it'll need some upgraded speakers, amp and sub but I want it all integrated and hidden away, basically looking as standard as possible. Right now it has an amp and a massive sub in a box in the boot and I hate it, it makes the boot unusable and I'm embarrassed to open it just in case anyone spots my "wicked sub innit" fighting for space with my shopping - It has to go!
