Title: Has anyone ever cleaned their intercooler?

Was just wondering if anyone has done this? If so what product did you use, did you take out the cooler?

Did it make a difference to car performance?

Not sure if this is an 'approved' method but I've heard of people removing it from the car and using petrol to clean out oil contamination after turbo issues. Not sure if there'd be much to clean out if you haven't had such an issue as it's only filtered air that passes through it.
