WHY?
Because I like making my car that little bit different from all the other cars on the UK roads without it looking like a Max Power castoff.
SOURCING:
I brought them direct from Awesome GTI £26.62 I don’t often buy from them to be honest as I find them a bit expensive and I have a local source now for all my VW bits in Midland VW I cant fault there prices or service!
FITTING:
I’ll be honest i had a try and gave up the construction of the MK5 wing mirroes is a bit of an arse to say the least. So I got Midland VW to fit them and Jody (head honcho) agreed there a pain to fit.
PLUS POINTS:
Nice subtle modification I that does the job. Very good build quality and fitting.
MINUS POINTS:
Pain in the arse to fit!
SUMMARY:
If you want a darker look like I did go for it but a word of warning fitting is not for the light hearted.
Will post close ups on car :)

Good review, yeah I think they make quite a lot of difference over the OEM lens!!
Yeah bit annoying to fit, but once you've done one, the other takes a matter of seconds!!
-
i have them on mine and i think they look so much better than stock and work so well with black mirror covers

for £26 you might aswell keep your stock ones nice and mint

When I first tried to change mine I gave up then I saw this guide and it was so simple to replace after that.

The only part of fitting which is a pain, is removing the actual cover, and if you remove the mirror glass, and motor, it gives you access to the fastening points.
-
I had them and didn't fit them, sold them to bacillus :happy2:

Being darker, don't they reduce the visibilty strength of your indicators?

no as the LED is very bright when on  and it lights up very well

x2. I had an original fitted at the same time as the In-Pro (for comparison reasons), and both were as bright as one another

That's good to know, but I think I prefer showing off the fact that my wing mirrors have indicators.
Also I'm about to further mod my mirrors (sort of).
-
I've done this mod twice now, and the covers are tricky to get off, but find some good instructions and be persistent. :)

CF?
I'm gonna do this when I get round to it. On one side the indicator plastic thing is cracked. Not sure how/when it happened. I reckon it was the time my door got a little scratch in it.

You're my hero Mat
On a serious note, how!? I have no troubles getting the covers off, but I do it via taking off the mirror lense and motor. Would normally take a bit longer than 2mins to do that! Do you have a special tool that can prize off the cover without taking the rest off?!

Mat, weather pending if I were to buy some and bring them to the pod would you fit them for me? I can bring beer!

Well ok I suppose it would take me about 4 minutes per mirror! Still reckon you boys prize the cover off without taking the motor off! :P
