I've had a Canon 400D for a long time now and not really used it all that much, but the WRC is coming up to North Wales next month and I really feel like getting to grips with the camera and buying a half decent 55-250mm lens for it.
I've heard good reviews about the Canon 55-250 mm F/4-5.6 IS Lens, which can be had for little cash now... but my main question is:
Do I need the IS or IS II for my Canon 400D?
And is there anything wrong in getting a second hand one? Because these can be had for pennies on eBay.

Either will work.. im guessing that the II is the upgrade from I. So get the II if you can.

Cheers Rich, sounds good, the reason I ask is because I read "somewhere" that one wasn't compatible with a certain Canon series of cameras and that's where my doubt grew.
Defo will go for a IS II if it's all good with the 400d, cheers. :happy2:
