Title: Is it possible to lose a remap?
Post by: phem0r on October 25, 2013, 08:34:55 pm
So i got my car back today from the garage after cambelt replacement and noticed all my headunit settings were gone so they obviously had to disconnect the battery. The garage had the car over night so i assume the battery would of disconnected for a decent amount of time so my question is - Is it possible to lose your stage 1 revo map on a mk5 golf gti if the battery is disconnected for a length of time?

I dont think the car felt any different but i'm not sure as they gave me a tt quattro for 2 days to use..

Bugger. The car was at vagtech who originally mapped it so i would of thought they'd reapply all the settings

I'll get in contact with them, ta!

If the batteries been off for more than 2 hours the revo settings will revert to a `stock` setting which runs very rich as mine did when i took mine off.

Why do Revo make it do this? Don't think any other tuners maps are lost or settings changed when battery is disconnected

Seems like a way of encouraging people to buy an SPS switch

Yea that's kinda lame.. I'd assume the battery had been disconnected for more than 2 hours, they were doing a cambelt kit replacement, lowering springs and cv boot replacement
