Title: Part ex quote for ED30
Post by: Sqwilliams on October 28, 2013, 07:32:44 pm
This time in the right section!  :ashamed:

Looking to sell the Eddy and trade it in for a 335d.

It's a June 07, DSG, with 55K on the clock, FSH and in great condition. I paid nearly 12K for it 14 months ago so I nearly fell off my chair when BMW offered me 7.5K for it against a 25K 335d!

I appreciate that I'm going to take hit taking it to a dealer but that strikes me as way off where it should be? Keen to understand anyone elses experience - am I being unrealistic?

Cheers

Sell it private bud, BM will never give you what it's worth... should make at least £1.5k on that, worth doing. :happy2:

Could reach £10k private I guess.....

Dealers need to make a profit on cars they bring in..

As a part ex,that's realistic.remember they will not give you what they would sell it on for, as then there's no profit, private sell it for 10.5k, go back with cash in hand and better your deal if you want a 535 would be my advise.

That's a lot of fuel money and vehicle repair bills for a change of wheels!

For comparison I was initially offered £7.5K for my '08 75K ed30 in px against my ed35, wanted 9.5K to deal which I got after much haggling and it then sold a week later for £10.2K..

interesting point about webuyanycar - just got a quote online and they've offered £8595. Still not amazing but I always thought they'd offer less than a dealer! All of sudden that's looking quite appealing!

We buy any car always lower the price when you get there even if you make out its worst condition than it js

Try this for a free cap valuation, you have to give a few personal details that's it.

Bmw dealers dont understand the niche market of the ed30. It would just pass through the trade and end up with a dealer that "gets" it and be retailed for £10k.

I simply do not understand why anyone in there right mind trades a car in, granted selling privately can be a bit of hassle but the difference in price margins is ridiculous!

Sell it privately, rock up with the case & flip them the bird on the way out in your nice new shiny bimmer!

What number is your ed30 ?

7.5k is an insult !

9.5k is more realistic , retail 10.9k
