This looks like a decently written advert about a car owned by an enthusiast, so thought I'd ask if it's anyone's on here?

Very keenly priced I think - almost too keenly priced, and I instinctively don't trust Gumtree...
Thoughts?

Recognise the picture straight away, I stared looking for a golf 18 months ago and came across this exact one. I remember back then seeing it on a forum and also gumtree for 11k. It's a real beauty if a car but I was still in the early stages if buying a new car so didn't pursue. It eventually was listed in ebay and 'sold' for somewhere around £8500.
I'd be cautious, as there the same photos it was advertised with before and is now advertised a lot less than 18 months ago and IMO a steal at its current price.. To good to be true  also no phone number provided I the ad?
See if anyone else can shed some light I could be wrong, but thought I'd try and assist :happy2:

It reads to good to be true!
Get him to send you a photo of the boot sticker showing the vehicles PR codes and V5 before wasting anytime!

Headlights are
Not my choice of mods which would make me think "What kind of life has this been through under the current owner?..." :popcornsoda:

Takes 5 minutes to find a good write up and copy/paste into a new advert...
I have dealt with gumtree through my line of work and a truly incredible amount of crime takes place on there in relation to car sales!
A common theme goes a little like this...
Buyer finds a deal almost too good to be true and arranges to meet seller at sellers chosen location, buyer arrives at scene and meets seller....and sellers friends, buyers money and most likely the car he is traveling in drive off into the sunset!
However if you really want to take your chances follow the advice posted above but also arrange to meet at the local police station car park.
Good luck! :happy2:

It looks lovely and good spec .. Not sure about the advert and being on gumtree but if it's not to far away for yourself maybe pop and have a look but take a friend or two just incase

As v4rley, I also saw this for sale on eBay - it's pretty much the same advert text as used previously, so would def be cautious!

Searching the keywords in the ad brings up the old eBay link from a year ago:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251150286978
......and another one:

Suspect it's a scam.

Thanks guys - I'll give this scam a skip then! Trust your instincts...
