Hi Guys,
Just wanted to see what declaring new wheels typically does to insurance, i rang my insurance and they said it would add £70 to the annual subs which seems pretty steep, anyone got different experiences?
Thanks,
R

Mine added about £100, they said it's cos wheels make the car substantially look different, making it more eye catching to thieves... even though mine are the same size(bar width) and use the original tyres size...

I have unlimited cosmetic modifications for free on my insurance policy with Brentacre. My price will only go up when i increase power.

Thanks Chaps, Deako, would you mind me asking the cost of your insurance? I have 7yrs no claims and found a quote for £515 (admiral) recently though that didnt include the wheels,

You should go with a specialist, less hassle and costs when it comes to insuring mods then.

Try Greenlight, they don't charge for mods unless you are going big turbo, and all mods are covered on a like for like basis!

Thanks guys, Greenlight came back over £100 less for my premium, great stuff!

Yes, I am with Greenlight for past two years, really pleased with their service and are competitive in the market place.

But they charge a £25 admin fee for any mod.
Brentacre do not charge an admin fee for any mods you make. The only admin fee you would have to pay for is when you change your car. Modifications come with no mid term adjustment! Worth it if you have a lot of staggered modifications planned.
My policy is £880 FC with protected no claims, but that includes insuring my fiancee on the policy who is only 22 and 2 years driving. If i was insuring myself only, it was about £300 FC protected ncb.
