Post by: Parmo on October 30, 2013, 05:57:28 pm
I have managed to fix the issue with oil consumption I have a 08 GTI dsg 42k using oil the plastic oil housing filter was leaking no damage to it.
On idle no leak put when plenty of gas it spurts out fixed after fourth trip to garage

So how did you fix the leak if the filter housing wasn't damaged?

Relieved more than anything after buying a a4 sline that went back to garage, private sale edition 30 lesson learned never again. This one now it's sorted is a keeper for now top spec all factory fitted

Maybe the rubber O-ring was missing or the filter housing had a damaged thread from over tightening?

At least it's sorted, better than the previous recommendation of using an Oil additive anyway...
