Title: B**tards
Post by: GTI power on November 02, 2013, 09:29:30 am
Well, guess what happened to me on Halloween?

I was working late an had an early start the next day, so naturally stayed in and went to sleep.

I awoke the next morning to find my mirror was in? Odd.. So upon further inspection it was scratched, along with my wing and bumper. It is on the pavement side.. So my only conclusion is some drunken idiot has fallen down my car and tried to stop him/herself with my mirror.

Got a body repair guy coming out today to quote me.

I hate some people!

Sorry to hear this fella.  Only a few weeks ago some scumbag keyed my Subaru, I had to have three panels painted at a cost of £350.00.  Unfortunately, criminal damage in this way has to now be factored in with owning a car.

It makes me so angry!

I mean I have paid thousands upon thousands over the years in insurance premiums, I have a completely clean record and have built up my no claims... This is the sort of thing we should be able to use our insurance for without fear of massive premium increases.

I swear if i find the person that did this...!

Oh and they scuffed the xenon headlight too.

It's painful to see something like this happen.  :sad1:

I personally could never own a nice car that I pamper/cherish and then park outside, whether it be on the roadside or on a driveway.

I once had 3 panels dented and scratched on a brand new Audi Quattro I had just bought. 2 of my wheely bins had blown over onto the car.  :surprised:

A garage is always right up there on the list if and whenever I move house.

Sorry mate....this probably isn't making you feel any better.  :ashamed:

It's off to the body shop weds. He reckons he should be able to flat/polish it out. If not it's 230 pounds.

Also - my other wing has been scratched in the same way. Looks like they fell into it and dragged themselves to the pavement. Facking scumbags. I hope I find them..

i really feel your pain.  :sad1:

There to many idiots and rubbish drivers out there. i always get ants in my pants if i park anywhere public and always rush back asap. I would hate to get a car later on thats better than the golf ...just wouldnt sleep at night.

I'm a firm believer in "karma" and that guy will hopefully have some sh*t come his way at some point in his/her life

It's just the lack of .. Well, anything. A simple note on my window the next day offering to pay for the repairs and an apology!

It would negatively effect me and having my old car keyed all along the passenger side was very annoying but ultimately, we have insurance , and unless it's over let's say £800-1000 most of us wouldn't use insurance anyway.
I have security cameras set up on my driveway on a 7 day loop.

If I go out I normally park in another public area with other cars. Why worry about it, enjoy your time away from the car otherwise what sort of life is that, if you're always rushing back to a car...
