Title: RNS510 fitting/bluetooth/firmware. PLEASE HELP!
Post by: bbfb10 on November 05, 2013, 03:21:25 pm
Bit of help/advice please. I have agreed to buy an RNS510 from Beezer Diesel (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,74835.0.html) What do l need to buy/do to get this working in my bog standard 04 plate GTTDI 140? Ive read about CANBUS(?) and firmware upgrades to prevent battery drain, I would also like to get a Bluetooth module fitted but am unsure of which part number I need to get my iPhone 5 working with this headunit. In the future Im looking to purchase an armrest, do I need an MDI?

As you can tell, Im very confused and a total noob, so any answers will need to be in plain English. As if youre talking to a particularly stupid 5 year old.

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

Worth trying again as it will be the most cost effective way - after that you'll have to watch the for sale section

If the firmware has been modified then you don't need a gateway. The only way to find out is to fit it and see.

If you want to be safe then change the gateway

7P6 or 5K0 work nicely with the RNS

I have kits or if you want to find the module I have looms and mics
