I have a mk5 140 2.0tdi,
I've had it mapped, pipercross panel filter and a stainless cat back system.
I've been looking at getting a egr delete for quite a while now but would just like people's opinions on them.
And would also like to know if it's just a case of fitting and job done or if it needs programming?
Any help/advice or opinions would be much appreciated

If you delete it, you will have to have it removed via map also

I've done mine as my egr had failed. Doesn't smoke at all now. No real performance gain I dont think.

Just enquired about having it mapped and I was quoted £75, does that sound about right?
Just read the guide, such a great help!

You can drive without mapping but it will display a warning light on dash, i ran for 8 months without mapping on my PD170

How did you know it had failed?
I'm not getting great economy and it smokes under heavy load yet in every other way it's fine and only done 35000 miles.

You don't need to have it mapped out although as said you will have a light on your dash.
While you're at it I'd remove the EGR cooler too, I did this on my A3, takes away loads of unwanted poop!

I think I am gona do both. Just pointless having the cooler if it's sat doing nothing
