Hi, just been fitting the lower engine mount insert and while I was under I thought I would try and find this high pitched noise coming from the rear. Presuming it was a small hole in the exhaust I ended up at the fuel filter. Anybody know why it's doing this? It's annoying me because I can ever so just hear it from the inside rear.

Could also be from the fuel tank, not sure if there is a pump in there?

Sounds like it could be the low pressure fuel pump in the tank priming the system when you open the driver's door.

It does while the engine is running, sure it gets a little louder when I rev. High pitched whistle

Possibly the filter it's self but as above, in other models MKII it's was common for the LP Tank pump to cause such problems.
