Assuming it's not mapped?
If not forget intakes and buy a stage 1 map.
Slippery slope thereafter!

no its not mapped
how much does stage 1 map cost round about ? and does the car gain anything just from the mapping ?

Revo stage 1 worked well for me, of course car gains! Do search on revo or go to their site for info. You are likely not to get as high gains as revo say however mine did go like a rocket after the stage 1. Like a poster said slippery slope thereafter.

In that case it's the best thing you could do to your car. In fact, if you add some hardware without software adjustments that can utilize it you may in fact impede your vehicles performance. Choose a map from a reputable supplier, not a driveway special. It'll cost £400/£500 I expect.

Your car will gain immeasurably from just a stage 1 map and no other modifications at all. Usually around 20% in bhp and ft lb torque. It's a HUGE difference.
As for a CAI, I'd have a look at the new REVO one, love mine. I've had the ITG Maxogen, EVOMS and Twintake and prefer the sound of the REVO, looks the dingles too. Second to this is the EVOMS IMHO. Personal choice though.
A REVO Stage 1 map will cost £600 and an SPS+ switch (if you want one) is another £150, they usually do a couple of 20% sales a year so worth waiting if you go for REVO. Personally I'd go with a R-Tech custom Stage 1 Linear map, costs £290 and its well worth the trip (wherever you are in the country).
Look at changing your Diverter Valve to the Revision G (£35 from the VW Dealers), changing (or at least checking) your PCV to the latter Recision N, change your Cam Follower (if its not been done recently) and run your car on 99RON. All the part numbers can be found below....

Weedy, your profile says you are based around .....Oman, Dubai and Germany. Are these just work related and do you live in the UK or not?
Giving advice for maps at R-Tech may not be viable if he is based in Germany. LOL
Revo, GIAC and APR would be generally available to home though. :happy2:

^^^^ Oman, Dubai and Gemrmany, I need to pay attention!
OP, ignore R-Tech for a map and look at the peeps mentioned above. :happy2:
