Title: RCD 510 Screen Colour

Just a quick one,  :grin:

I keep seeing people with an RCD 510 in their GTi`s or other MK5 and they all seem to display in different colours, only two lots anyway.

I see them in the red and black theme and also the standard silver theme, i thought it depended on which vehicle they were put in, to which colour they would display?

For example, fitting one to an 04 GT TDi it was a silver theme - Fitting it to an 07 GTi Ed30 it should become black and red.

or did i miss something? its bloody black and red in the manual.... :fighting:

You can change the color using vcds

Only the RNS-510 can be changed. The RCD doesn't have the relevant firmware.

i take it that's just the RNS, the RCD wont have this functionality to be coded?

i think i might have just discovered the colour difference.... :stupid:

am i right in saying the DAB version has the darker screen?

It's not the night/day mode is it? I know my mfd2 goes dark when lights are on.
