ive recently bought a 2005 mk5 golf gt, its the 2.0l
ive noticed a few small problems
interior lights donot come on when the doors opened
it mists up when started
sluggish starting but maybe needs a good charge on the battery
and finally
the history from the seller / trader was that it had had a new turbo and still had some residual oil in the exhaust system
on driving it home it responds absolutely great with plenty of power, however I noticed the smell of oil and oil smoke when I pulled up at home to find oil dripping from the exhaust and all over the back box
ive spoken with the seller to be told it will pass ?????????????

It may be f11cked ,
Have you checked the oil level ??
Have you got the receipt for the new turbo ?
-
There's not many ways other than getting a camera in there to check for damage but if the previous turbo did go then oil would be in the exhaust and it will burn off but may take a bit of time??
When my turbo had gone we took the head off and all the pistons had turbo debris on them, this was causing poor starting and water lose.
The A/c may not be working check the small fan is running while the engine and a/c is turned on. The interior lights might just be a fuse or a bulb.
Hope you get it sorted mate, it's a sh*tta when it's not working properly

when was the turbo changed...When my turbo went and dumped oil in the exhaust it took 20 or so miles to clear it out...
-
turbo change was in the last month or so
miles done so far are around 50
and receipt is on the way
checked oil and its full
will look at the other bits re lights and misting up
air con works well
