Hi everyone,
So I just got myself a 2008 Gti on 50k in Grey. Previously had a Mk2, x2 Mk3 8v and lastly a Mk4 150bhp which was a terrific car.
Looked for ages for the right motor but never found one with the spec I wanted ( everything ) so I had to settle for less and now I'm trying to quickly spec up the car.
Needs MFSW, RNS510 ( got one, ready to go in ), MDI, Cruise control.
Thought the car should be pretty easy to retrofit stuff into since it's a later model and has a 'Q' canbus.
My question is:
When fitting the MFSW do I need to change the indicator stalk since the functions are duplicated and the manual suggests that the indicator stalk is different when the car is ordered with a MFSW ?
Thank you,
Darren

If your going to fit cruise your going to change the stalk anyway - you'll need to check your steering controller part number for it to work.
The man to contact is Eddie-NL - he does all you need at cracking price ( parts or Labour).

Cruise is on the left stalk though isn't it ?
& All of the MFD functions are accessed through the right stalk.
Or am I missing something ?

This is correct but as doylebros said you need to check what steering controller you have fitted to make sure it supports cruise.

Cheers guys,
I have vcds so I'll see if I can find out what controller is installed over the weekend.
Still unsure if I will need to swap the indicator stalk over though ?

I never changed mine when i upgraded to a MFSW. The right stalk i mean

cool, so it can stay and still works - I think I'll do that, better to have more than one way to do things.
Cheers

Yeah works fine. The rocker on the end of it still works to cycle through the menu too
