Hi all,
Got myself booked in at r-tech end of this month to let them work their magic on the eddie. Got no doubts they will do a top notch job after everything I have heard on here about them.Only question is..... is it not better to wait till after the bad weather to get this done? Anyone had theirs done during winter and regretted not waiting?
Thanks

Got mine done a couple of months back, admittedly when weather was better, you do not need to wait. Get it done, seize the day. If you've got an Ed30...it's incredible...totally different car.

I got mine done in winter, bare in mind winter isn't all snow & ice, you get mild days where you can put the hammer down plenty. :happy2:
You don't have to use the power all the time either

Get it done. Oh and deploy the loud pedal with a wee bit more care when it snows. :happy2:

Good advic guys. Bring on the 30th Now!!!! :driver:

Just out of interest what have you guys found from remaps, obviously greater performance but how has this affected your fuel economy? Do you have some before and after figures?
I am interested in getting my Ed30 mapped but I have to do quite a few long journeys so the fuel efficiency is quite important.

A good remap should see a slight MPG gain, or at least the same as before, if driven exactly the same.
In reality you make use of the extra power, but probably talking a couple of MPG down overall.
Sorry to say but you have the wrong car to worry about MPG - drive it like a GTI is meant to be driven!

iv had my ED30 remapped and it's at 296bph, on my round trips to work about 4 miles my mpg is just over 20mpg :-( just done a trip from midlands to Cumbria around 250miles at 70mph and got 33mpg and used half a tank of fuel so was impressed with that.. not a clue what it did before the remap thew it was done when I brought the car
