Title: Intake systems
Post by: GTiBlues on November 14, 2013, 09:56:23 pm
Right, this is doing my head in. Reading around the web to find the best induction kit for Performance and Sound. Whats people running?

I read that ITG is claiming 44bhp increase over a standard OEM system on a ED30.
Forge Twin kit claiming 14bhp increase over a standard OEM system too.

I guess the AMD, APR and Revo are basically the same kits?

Lots of threads on CAI's, use the Search function.

FWIW, look at REVO or EVOMS CAI's. Ignore the "claimed" gains of all of them.

AMD are to be ignored, was/is a problem with their system I believe! ITG and VWR/APR are the same (all are closed canister CAI's IIRC), EVOMS have been around for years and are proven to work and the new REVO system is very good, I'm loving mine, look much better quality than some others too.

Sound? Revo or ITG (the old filter type Maxogen) for whoosh dish and EVOMS for cha cha cha.

I did search  Just does my head in that everyone saying one type or something else. Was going to put in a panel filter upgrade. But seems pointless i read.

Revo does take my fancy. Best advice I've read so far, thanks  :happy2:

Noticeable over what, an OEM panel filter or another CAI system?  Have you Dyno'd your car pre and post adding the REVO, what were the gains.  I never had mine on the rollers before and after so no idea what gains the REVO alone made.

Had two CAIs on the mk5 now, gone back to OEM each time... Miss the instant low down torque advantage the air box gives.

Revo/evoms/itg in that order, contemplating selling my evoms for revo as it's got proven gains

Sorry I meant over stock. And by noticeable I am going by how the car feels to drive after it was fitted. Going for a dyno next week.

Hi mate

The reason that one is cheaper is because its not coated.

I can do the none coated for £350.00

or Coated for £415.00

For gains it's the Evoms kit
Ryan at garage midnight will vouch for it too...
I've had twintake, itg and was going for revo...
Ryan has shown me the difference from revo and the evoms kit in the dyno and it's certainly the better performer, and I have neither so am not biased in anyway.

Revo would say revo
Forge would say forge
Ryan doesnt work for either and has tried all for his mad mk5.race caf
