Title: Shark fin
Post by: sean140 on November 15, 2013, 03:46:41 pm
My shark fin has finally arrived this week. So i will be  fitting it tomorrow.

Anyone on here done it before? Is there anything i should look out for or has any tips on doing this?

My aerial atm is perishing around the base so i thought i would change it for a shark fin. I will get some pics up after i have fitted it.

Cheers

If your mechanically minded and have short reach 22mm spanner, It's not hard but you've got to be careful with the headlining.

If it's just a change over that's it but the white aerial plug is taped to the roof so you need a mirror to find it!

However, if your fitting the Nav and Dab leads there's a bit more work involved.

Fitted the aerial fin today. Probably took me around 40 minutes in total. Wasn't as hard as I was thinking.

Had to improvise with the connectors as the 1 I bought wasn't the same fitting to the original connector.  Only issue I have is AM reception.  I have lost that now, not sure what is needed? Other than this I'm really impressed with the results.

Well done - was the white connector tapped up to the roof?

It was taped.  Also behind the yellow airbag module (I think that's what it was) the aerial wire on the new fin was a bit shorter than the standard aerial. But all in all, very happy with it.
