Title: DAB aerial 6R0035501D cable route ?
Post by: darrenchambers on November 18, 2013, 10:56:48 am
Hi All,

Based upon the answers kindly provided in this thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,75613.0.html

I have decided to fit the DAB aerial 6R0035501D into my Golf Mk5, I understand that I need to run x2 Fakra extension cables and my questions are these:

1/ Which route should the cables take - floor and up the C pillar or A pillar and along the roofline ?

2/ Since power is delivered to the aerial via the Fakra connectors for DAB, do I need a special extension cable ?

Thanks for all your help people - I promise to give something back soon when I finally fit all this gear.

Regards,
Darren

If I was you I would contact Eddie-NL he'll do you a good price on "any cables required" - I would fit the camera cables while your on the fit the camera later - both the aerial and camera are excellent mods!

Cheers - that is a great write up & there is a v.good explanation on how to route cables to the back of the car and up the C pillar.

Does the stock aerial cable route along the floor of the car then, or does it run in the headlining?
