Don't want to start a Dsg vs manual thread but will be intreasted to know how many members on here have manual & how many have Dsg

Stick and glad I went for it over the latter.

2 pedals and 2 paddles for me!
Me too! Best of both worlds.... :happy2:
-
Prefer to use the left foot and not just for breaking!! :driver:
-
I'm Manuel which I enjoy but starting to wish I had DSG purely for the fact that I could go stage 2 and not have to worry about clutch slip :sad1:
-
2 pedals, 2 paddles and a shifter! :pomppomp: Four and a bit years of DSG ownership and still loving it! :happy2:
-
5 years of DSG on my ED30 and also still loving it. :pomppomp:
-

A proper dsg convert. Had it on my gti and now my edition 30. Can't see me ever wanting a manual car again! (Unless it's a crappy elastic band gearbox!)
However my Drift car is manual as the Nissan autos are utter turd and you can't clutch kick the life out of them
-
Dsg because it's quicker than I'll ever be, Not went to go in to 5th and selected 3rd since :signLOL:
-
DSG would never go back to manual
-
DSG. Didn't go looking for it, and my car was advertised as a manual by VW on their site. The HPI check I did the night before came back as a Semi-Auto - I felt a bit disappointed, but I decided to go and try it anyway...how glad I am that I made that trip!
The only time I miss manual gears is that DSG lacks the ability to skip gears up or down the box. Can be tiresome in manual DSG mode going through every gear ...6-5-4-3-2-1, when in a manual car I would combine braking with the downchanges 6-4-2-1, for example.

DSG forever!
-
DSG - it's an age thing!
-
Manual - I don't fancy £1500 repair bills :scared:
My fear is that particularly on the older MK5's, as these units get to 10yrs old and 100k miles and get a bit of wear on the internals, they may get a bit sloppy, jerky, mis-shifts or worse :surprised:
DSG problem threads getting more and more common. . .

Good old skool manual for me :happy2:
-
DSG brilliant I will never go back
-
DSG :happy2:
-
DSG never want a manual again :-)
-
I had a manual ed 30 but got a 2 pedals an paddles GTI as the wife says no manuals ever again mind you it's low miles dsg serviced I'd not take a chance on a older high mileage without full dsg & service history of main dealer
-
Manual here :happy2: but like that dsg fart lol
-
DSG, absolutely love it now I've got a new Mechatronic fitted. Would def have it again.
-
Manual - I don't fancy £1500 repair bills
Well.... Bare in mind you have to spend 1000quid on an uprated clutch for manual if you remap, don't have that bother with DSG
-
DSG.
It's my first semi "auto" car, and would hate to go back to a manual car, I can't see any reasont too tbh
-
Manual shifting for me making that Milltek bang! :happy2:
-
Can still do that with yhe Dsg :-)
