Title: need advice on wipers

Hi silly question time - recently bought a mk5 and washed it for the first time today - how do I lift the wipers clear of the windscreen please

Ignition ON. Pull wiper stalk down. Wipers will sweep to vertical (service position) and you can lift them clear of the screen.

Once you've finished washing, put the wipers flat on the glass again, repeat the procedure with ignition and they'll return to their normal position.

Make sure you return the wipers flat against the screen or you end up scratch the paint off the edge of your bonnet  :sad1:

There's been a scratch on the edge of my bonnet since the day I bought it, every time if looked at it I couldn't figure out how it got there! Now I know.
