Hey guys,
I went down to costco the other day to get all 4 tyres changed to Michelin PS3s (which are great btw :driver:). Unfortunately they managed to scratch one of my alloys while changing the tyres (monza 2s).
Anyway to cut it short they agreed to pay out for a refurb on that one wheel.
The car only had its wheels refurbed this febuary when i got it :sad1:. The dealer got it done by lepsons.
I was asked to get two quotes, one from VW and one from my choice of Lepsons.
- Went down to VW today (£102) they are using someone from 'up 2 scratch' had anyone used them before? If so are they any good? They will do it within the day.
- Got a quote from lepsons (£80) where they will collect and return the wheel, but it takes a week :(.
My initial instincts is to go with lepsons as thats where it was done before and hopefully it will be the same finish.
Any thoughts will be great.
Thanks

go.with lepsons

I'd go with the place that did it before - same process of refurb with same paint so it should be a good match for the others.
I guess the other one is a smart repair?
-
I'd go where you got the rest done :happy2:
-
Get it done where it was originally done or the colour won't match and it'll look stupid.
£80 is still a lot for a refurb. I paid £330 and £360 retrospectively for my wheel refurbs (the special paint used cost £48+vat each time) so works out at like... £60 a wheel?
-
Lepsons!
-
Personally I'd go with Lepsons as it's only a week to wait.

the Monza 2s are more expensive to refurb if they're being diamond cut. never used Lepsons personally, but i've only ever heard good things about them in the time i've been on here.

Go with Lepsons. I can almost guarantee what the dealer will do to repair your wheel. They will use their smart repairer who will grind the damaged area away then polish it back with fine glass paper. It will look good for a week or so then dull down and be very noticeable. Also as already mentioned if lepsons did it before the finish should be the same

Lepsons are the best in the South East mate. I've used them before and the finish was like factory perfect!

Cheers guys. Think I'm gonna go with lepsons.
Only problem is when i rung them they said you can only refurb the wheels twice. I know they've been done once already when i got them but unsure if they had been anytime before i didn't own the car.
