As some of you will know i recently traded in the GTI for an Edition 30. The reason being, it was the car i wanted 18 months ago but there wasnt any on the Island so bought the GTI instead.

2007 (march) Build no 0117
3dr
DSG
MFSW
Highline Clocks
RCD300 mp3 with parrot ck3100
59100 miles
It had a full vw service history until it was px'ed at the local landrover dealer who decided to dirty its past with one of their stamps and also the nissan dealer i bought it from.
Plans are stage 1 for weekend fun and any chassis / braking mods i feel are needed on the way.
I have already (poorly) fitted my blueflame suitcase delete and subsequently bought a milltek non res centre section to go with and tidy it up :ashamed:
More pics to follow

I recently bought a red ED30 off the island! :rolleye:
-
Very nice, I like a red edition 30

Yeah? I haven't seen one for sale for ages. Not many editions over here.

Cheers! Needs a good machine polish and the bonnet has been battered with stone chips so it need painting and the wheels are the wrong silver. Other than that it's pretty clean, my gti was a proper rust bucket underneath.
-
Terrible pic of my suitcase delete.

Bought it off Kevin off the forum, he hadn't advertised it yet, I was just eager, and in the right place at the right time! :fighting: Picked it up from Ennis and now lives with me in Manchester :innocent:

I think our wires are crossed mate. I'm on the Isle of Man. :)
-
Love a TR edition 30 . Good job mate

Went through to my mates bodyshop today to give it a wash and try to get the silicone sheen sh*te off the windscreen and fit new wipers.

Much better, it's getting a machine polish and wax Monday so it'll look factory and the milltek non res centre section is en route to fix my ropeyness. :)
-
Looking good mate, machine polish really makes TR paintwork shine. Did mine this year.
How are you finding the suitcase delete? Did you fit or was it on when you bought it?
Si

Cheers man :)
Fitted it myself (originally fitted it to my gti) but made a bollocks of it. It's good, makes more noise without being offensive and looks better than the stock tail pipe.
-
Looking good! Must be the only Edition 30 on the Isle of Man?
Nicely specced too - it'll sound well when you get the Milltek pipe on. Recently had a Milltek Cat back on mine (Non res) - sounds much better than standard!

Cheers mate. I count about 4/5 editions over here. 1 person owns a black & a white one, I know of another black one, possibly a silver one and mine but I have it in my head there is another TR one too but I might have just seen mine a few times in the past as it's had 2-3 different Manx reg's.
It sounds ace with the suitcase delete so I'm expecting good things :)
-
Last night I "ruined" it.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fnn273%2F16VWarby%2FA97FABC7-5E93-4D48-831C-D30F1B4C1114_zps1lu3ovya.jpg&hash=c6b3c1eab98fbdf2e160a6c004e31b52c8d1d322)
Added a milltek non res centre to my suitcase delete. It's loud. Going to add a silencer to reduce the cabin noise a bit. Sounds great on the go mind :)
Link to video, hopefully.

Nothing much to report as I've just bought forged pistons and rods for my 200sx, among other parts, but I have taxed the edition for another year.
Next job is cam follower and an oil change as I don't know what pish the Nissan dealer put in it. :)

Tonight I fitted a new cam followe, rev G diverter valve and rev R pcv.

Think the cam follower was getting a bit tired, car has done 61k now and it's probably the original one. The cam lobe is mint so that's good :)

It had a rev E pcv and rev D d/v fitted, most likely original.
Just need to change the oil now and I'm happy with the motor for the time being. :)
Next jobs are refurb wheels and it basically needs a respray as it's battered with stone chips round the front & up the roof and has a few big scratches here & there :(

Revision N is correct for your car, not R
-
That's the part vw sent, I ordered an N but his computer couldn't even find it. Should cause a problem should it?

As long as its not like the Rev P kit that has to have a rear check valve replaced..which isn't for the byd engine.
Vw might of revised the rev N for this R revision?
-
How would I find this out or is it a case of wait & see. Google hasn't helped.

Removed the rev R pcv as it had gone through 1/4 of a dipstick of oil in 40 miles. It's never used oil like that before. The outlet down to the manifold was soaked with oil whereas the other pcv was pretty much dry.

N it is warby... Go speak to your dealer ;-)
-
Yup, tbh they're a bit hopeless so I'll just buy one from Sere Seat on the bay, it'll be less hassle :)
Anyone with a late mk6 want a rev R pcv cheap?

The drag racing we were meant to go to was cancelled so we went back to the garage and did this...

Looks really good, coming along a treat! :congrats:
I'm being swayed by darker wheels the more I see them on red golfs.
-
Went for a drive on the mountain to test the suspension, love it!

I can't remember the brand but they were 80 or 90 quid off the bay so probably chinaspeed, originally bought them for my old gti but never fitted them so we chucked them on to see how it went and I love it :D

Today I changed the plugs that have been in since new for ngk bkr7eix iridiums to cure an intermittent misfire. So far so good. :)

Gaps were in excess of 1.2mm (biggest feeler gauge I had) so the spark may have been blowing out under boost?
