Title: Collinite
Post by: dav1e on November 29, 2013, 08:33:12 pm
Bought a Mk5 two weeks ago with excellent paintwork and after reading some of the posts on here decided to give it a coat of Collinite (car had a polish first - don't know what with was done at the Garage where I bought it but good shine) - was very pleased with the results. Applied the wax with a foam applicator not too thick a paste and buffed to a mirror shine - would recommend to anyone considering a great wax. Will see how long the wax lasts over the winter but excellent water bead at present.

Collinite 845 liquid form

how does it compare to 467 ?

is it same wax just easy to take polish off

I do not like 845. It's far too fiddly and it comes out in a sort of thick jelly goop.

476 is a regular go to wax for me. As I keep saying wax serves no purpose other than to protect the paint and ultimately has very little difference in terms of finish.
Mine with 476s after a full paint correction. Polishing gets the shine. wax protects it.

No it doesn't. It's a pure wax. No "polish" at all.
I say pure wax it's still a somewhat synthetic wax but nevertheless, it has no abrasives in it at all..

as above, I agree brilliant budget wax and cost vs durability is excellent. Just always always remember to keep the application layer thin.

It is amazing stuff, I haven't washed the car in ages, yet when it rains there are sections which look super shiny... just need a soft wash to bring it back up completely.
