Hello all,
Does anyone know what this hole is or more importantly what should be in it?
Image is a bid dodgy but you can see the hole. It is located next to the engine block on the gearbox housings so effectively to view it you would be looking down into the engine bay on the passenger side.
Thought gearbox oil fill hole but understand this to be on the side of the gearbox. If you imagine looking straight down onto the hole it is on top of the gearbox housing. It is obscured by some coolant pipes hence the dodgy angle in the pic.
Any help much appreciated
Thanks

Might be a blank hole and may be something to do with if the car was left hand drive or right hand drive , i don't know where it is in the engine bay . Is there a plug in it or is it missing a cap of bung or something ?

Cheers for reply.
Have been searching (for about an hour) and apparently it's a gearbox/flywheel inspection hole.
Would have thought it needs a cover though. Doesn't look right exposed.

Doesn't really matter if it's exposed. Usually there would be a bung there.

Ah I see cheers Alex. With my lack of mechanical competence and level of luck it is only a matter of time before I drop something or something falls in.
I will order a bung today.
