As title says every time I go over cracks in the road etc can hear a knock from rear end it's lowered on coil overs, it didn't do it when first fitted so I knows it's not because it's too hard. Any ideas

Anyone
-
Stock or aftermarket exhaust?
Loose anti-roll bar?
-
Worn rear Stut top mounts?
-
Aftermarket exhaust but its not that its nice and tight and clear of eveything now its been mentioned it do sound sort of strut mount
-
Are all the rear strut mounts the same on mk5's or is the gti version different
-
Believe they are the same all bits are interchangeable on the rear.
-
I just found some on gsf listed for the gti so hopefully can't be far wrong just hope it solves the knocking as it's bloody annoying lol
-
I think mines a bit crashy on the rear over bumps , i would nt think any thing is worn (16k miles 2011 ) but some thing could be loose what should i check ?
-
I had a slight knock over rough roads and bumps and resolved it with 2 new rear top shock mounts.
-
Mine does it over rough roads espicially where the anti skid paint has worn off its annoying i am going to order 2 new mounts tomorow best of all now a dear fix neither

Buy the genuine ones, mine lasted 166,000 miles!

Sorted mine .... The rear seat was nt clipped in place !! :ashamed:
-
Can i go to tps or have i got to have a trade account
-
Depends on the branch, some will serv the public and some won't
TPS was only a 8% discount for the parts for me.
-
So better off going to vw tps not much cheaper

Yes, better off spending a bit more from vw for the same part from a parts guy who won't know what you want even with the part number :stupid:
