Title: New interior front seat airbag wiring help!
Post by: Steve A on December 04, 2013, 10:16:53 pm
Last night I finally fitted the front R32 seats (from a 2008) model into the other half's GT TDI 2004. I have the heated seat wiring loom and just need to source the digi control panel with the seat controls - hopefully this is sorted.

However slight issue I have noticed is the airbag connectors are different. the seat plugs are slightly different with the newer seat connector - extra plastic guides within the plug which prevents the two connectors from joining. Also the colours of the wires are different.

New seat wiring:                 black, blue, brown
Existing loom in car: white, green, brown

Can I simply just file the new plug to remove the two additional internal guides and join the two connectors? Obviously my main worry is triggering the bags :rolleye: any help here would be massively well received as I want them working seeing as its the other halfs car which will also be carrying my daughter in!

Thanks I believe this helps with which wires go together. Ideally didn't want to chop cables though :(

Thx Joe but doesn't this render the air bags useless?
