Title: G'day from down under - MK5 R32
Post by: monzablau16v on December 06, 2013, 12:26:40 am
Hi from the land of OZ!

I moved from the UK to Brisbane, Australia about 18 months ago and have just managed to find myself a tasty little MK5 R32. I'd previously had a number of Golf's and a Corrado VR6 in the UK so was itching to get back into some German machinery!

Finally found what i was looking for after a fairly lengthy wait:

MK5 Golf R32
DBP
Recaro bucket seats
Manual gearbox
+ a fair amount of extra goodies  :P

Here are some photos :

Cheers guys

As for plans, i am looking to do a few things:

RNS-510
MK6 Golf RVC retrofit
Highline Full Height cluster swap (from lots and lots of reading this seems to be a complete pain in the  :booty: ... but i like a challenge!)

good to see another IT bod :)

Yeah its a bigger place, certainly dont feel confined and the houses here are massive compared to the average UK home. Let's not go into the differences in quality of the house construction though else we will have a war on our hands lol (oh and let's not mention anything about Cricket either!  :sad1:)

Very jealous. Would love to move over to Australia!

Colour looks sweet! Is this enhanced/photoshopped? Or just what the colour should look like with proper sunlight!  :rolleye: Whats the road tax like? Same here in the UK? £475 for 12 months?

hi - no photoshop jigery pokery at all...that's all the natural beauty of DBP (taken with a Canon 70D with the kit 18-135mm lens with the assistance of the lovely Queensland sunshine)

Rego (AUS equivalent of road tax) is about £460 a year converted. But insurance is nice and cheap - £330 for the year. Oh and 98 unleaded is tottering around £0.96/L  :happy2:

cheers

Lol @ Jay's reply!

Gorgeous 32 mate!

Are your front arches standard? Look very pronounced but could be the angle of the shot!
