right guys i have done abit of pricing up the setup
and the retail on these is £750 but i can get them for £600 might be a little cheaper if you want blue caliper carriers  as red ones cost more but red calipers cost less then blue ones  about £30 cheaper for red
-
Oooh! Might have some of those off you in the New Year if that's ok matt? :happy2:
Are these basically the same as an R32 set up?
Don't know if im reading your post right, but £470 for red then?

i wish but its at cost price just about so silly silly cheap
-
whats the smallest sized alloy you can have on these? (just helping i got 18"s)
-
i would consider anything under 600 a VERY good price for a new set up for r32 brakes! they are so much better than standard!

thats what i thought for a brand new big brake setup

18s are a must
-
Jings, that IS silly cheap!
I've been torn on this for a while, as Cupra brakes are plenty powerful and at a grand less than APs/Alcons - can I really justify the weight saving and 4-pot creamyness?
Even bumping the price up with some DS2500's, braided hoses and decent fluid, they'd be monstorous for sure and still a bargain.
Need to try some peoples cars me thinks??
-
how easy to fit at home?

I saw an R32 at the 'ring running 17" Monzas and sticky tyres - didn't look close enough to see if they were on spacers or if the calipers had been machined though?
It's up for debate, but 18"+ to be safe.
-

Doddle - but can you be bothered getting your hands dirty for an hour's labour?

What is the total price please for red brakes and red calipers with all the bits needed to fit my edition 30? How much postage or what would be the weight as I could arrange a courier to collect!?
Cheers John

£500 for all the parts and i would say £40 posted at a guess as they will be heavy or collection from a forum meet to save on postage

I prefer the td ones, im ordering black wheel bolts in the new year though 8).
Matt, mine desperately needs lowering, might just go for springs and get the coilovers next year at some point
-
Mat excuse my dumbness :rolleye:
Are you saying you will provide everything that is needed for the conversion including pads and the spring clip thing for £ 470 with red calipers.
And that would be a pick up and collect price. If delivery is needed then we would have to pay extra.
-
no it will be about £500 for the kit maybe a few £ more or less once i have a set in my hands and thats no postage and i would think £40 ish postage maybe
-
Ok cheers Mat do i get any special discount for getting you and everyone involved. :innocent: :signLOL:

TinyDave have you seen where the original supplier of these kits is from, surely it will be cheaper for you to purchase from him.
-
 just been to pay for one of these kits today and with the discount i get and that staff discount  better than trade price they are £598.79P so £600 its still £170 cheaper than normal so its a good saving and it could be a little cheaper if you dont mind the blue r32 carriers but they are only £10 each cheaper  my mate said he did not know what the calipers would cost them to get in as they are a seat part number so he said had to order a set and see. we did think the kit was going to come in at just over £500 ie upto £540 at the most but its worked out at a few ££ more but atleast i have a full price now for the full kit.
i have also sent Luca a pm to see what he fitted to get them on his so all these parts might not be needed. Luca said he had the whole kit from the seat leon cupra  worth an ask and Jpc said the same
-
Still a great price Mat for a brake kit that is far better than the std ED30/GTi set-up. Like I have said its one of the biggest improvements on the S3 and the S3 is a bit lardy so the improvement should be even more on the Golf. I'd be tempted to put some braided hoses on while it was all dis-connected

yes so if people dont want the pads or the hoses it will be cheaper from me  but still abit pissed about the little increase in price but we could not get the full price until we had a full kit in our hands and was able to take my mates discount off them  so if anyone want a set and is going to the meet let us know as there will be no postage to pay for
-
as ive said, i think there great brakes.
i think some people think because there Vw supplied, they cant be too fantastic, but they are.
there are less than half the price of the ECS stage 5 kit. but they will be Far far better than half as good!
BUY THEM!
-
Are they the same as what JKM are offering?
http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsibrakes.htm
If they are, I'll happily take a red set off you in the new year...
-
Yes they are the ones jkm sell for £780 so I will pick this set up I have at vw and keep them for you but if anyone else wants a set please let me know :happy2:
