Just wondering what people had been charged by their Independent specialist to change follower?
Mines going in for a service and was thinking about getting them to do it to save me the agg!
:scared:
-
between £30-£40
-
Half an hour's labour at max seeing you don't have the older style banjo bolt setup.
-
Realistically they will charge an hours labour but it takes about 15 minutes
Why don't you do it yourself and save the money
-
Thanks for the speedy responces!
I was thinking about 30- 40 mins
Yea that's what I thought Jay..
I know I should do it myself really!
Just thought it'd save me some time and aggro! - Not 100% I have all the required tools
-
Matey I have the older banjo fix and it's still only took 30 minutes today and that was not rushing and havering a brew half way through. Not a big job

Ha Ha, I like this 'Having a Brew half way through' !! - I can't do anything with out a brew!
Sounds exactly what I'd do!!
Thanks for the input bud.

I agree, very fair price, considering part to public is ~£30 --- even though I've done it a few times myself, I don't think I'd bother if I had a decent indy doing it for that! :happy2:

That's a bloody amazing price.

£30.50 for the follower from me. Depending on the age of car it's either £15 or £30 to fit.

Here's a quick question for you Indy's regarding the fuel pump.
I've got a 2005 GTI with one hard and one soft pipe... I thought they were meant to be two hard lines at that age?

They are.
Don't complain about it!! Possible someone fitted the newer style pipes.

Unless it was replaced they were.
I have replaced mine.

Very strange, unless VW did it, as the previous owner (from new) didn't come across as someone who did anything to their motor, other than give the keys in at the service desk.
-
Could have just been a late 2005
-
Banjo bolt to hpfp was phased out after MY06 cars.
-
It's a 2005 '55, so perhaps a very early inclusion... either way, it made it an easier task, so I'm happy. :happy2:
