Hi all,
I am a new member to this forum, I have owned my Golf GTI (MK5) 06 plate (2 litre) for 3 years since 2010.
I totally love the car, brilliant to drive. The car also has a DSG Gearbox too.
At the moment Im averaging 24/26mpg. Surely I can get better MPG?
Does anybody know if there is anything that can be placed or done on the car for better fuel capacity / MPG ?
Thank you.

How is temp? Mine is sitting at 70 as the stat has stuck open and even on a run only getting 30mpg at sensible speeds. 70/80
Going to get it done. Looking forward to achieving anywhere mid 30 afterwards:)

What should the temp be as read by VCDS?

mines 89....
I get 35-40 easily in the summer. Winter gives me more like 32-35.
Hot 37 the other day was well happy.

Hmmmmm - so when I monitored ours I never got above 75 in VCDS and it drops from that to 70 or lower frequently. Gauge shows around 90 but again it can drop down from that. And mileage seems to be getting worse.
I thought it needed looking at as discussed on a previous post, that's convinced me, thanks

Remap
and a mod i did which was not expecting it to help MPG but it semed to do so was the Neuspeed power pulley.
avg mpg seemed to go up 1 to 2 between each fill up
