Title: Drivers Bolster
Post by: Rustybear on December 15, 2013, 01:23:24 pm
Have read a couple of searched threads but can seem to find an answer. Driver seat bolster and lower leg area have worn allot not now with some small tears/holes appearing so something needs to be done as I can feel the metal support. Same happened on my old mk4 company car that had same 100k mileage. Question is, is it best to get the side bolster and lower leg bolster done with new foam and cloth or to buy a new seat? Any experiences in either and circa costs?

I've had a few seat repairs (drivers seat only) and for the work your wanting in the North East would be £200.00. + vat

The repairs have been first class. However, I've seen some excellent buys on this site and could of sold mine on eBay and had a better styled seat.

£200+ vat is a lot for a bolster repair.
When you can have a whole interior retrim at MJ (front seats doorcards and rear sets) in fabric/leather for £800.
And you can buy a mint / near mint whole interior for around £450-500..

I've read people paying £100 for a localised repair all VAT/parts inclusive, which makes it more worth while

This is the reason I prefer leather on my GTIs , I hate when cloth seats get worn like that.

Leather will wear out too man.
It's just the design of the seat .
