Title: Why you shouldn't bounce the limiter
Post by: Baz300 on December 16, 2013, 08:06:11 am
This happened at a local cruise here at the weekend.

The guy was sitting bouncing the limiter for 10 mins before this happened

Not only does he have to live with everyone calling him a cock, the muppet's now been charged with reckless conduct.   :signLOL:

What a helmet. Think he thought the crowds around him liked the sound of it. When in honesty they were all desperate for it to blow up lol. What a result they got would love to seen him in video with his head well and truly in his hands lol

That's just so tragic. There were some absolute abominations around that focus that should have been caught in flames...
Glad to see it isn't an RS as I'd feared when I saw the first pics in the news.

It probably boiled the oil to be fair and then spilled onto the exhaust.

I'm one of the lucky 14,000 who have tickets to the tribute event in January at santa pod I really hope it's not full of c*cks.

Both this year and last, Silverstone woodlands campsite for the Moto GP was full of Transit vans bouncing off the limiter throughout the night.
Cant really comprehend the point of it all.

I'm happy that his car was utterly destroyed and I hope he can't afford another.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when he explains it to the insurance company!

"So sir, how exactly did it happen?"

"Well I was being an utter tool, revving the tits off of it for about 20 minutes or so, then it it just kind of cought fire unexpectedly"

"I see. May I kindly suggest you go and bother someone else. Merry Christmas"

I know I'm an arse but that's a bit out of order to be honest
People do stupid things.

If he'd over revved the car a few times, or dropped a gear and blew the engine, that's a stupid thing... To sit there for minutes on end aimlessly bouncing off the limiter in a public place really shouts he shouldn't be allowed in a car, god knows how ridiculously he drives if he has absolutely no mechanical sympathy like that.  One less of those on the road makes me happier tbh.

I guess you haven't been 18/19 for a very long time.

I have hit the limiter on occasions but never that much

I guess you haven't been 18/19 for a very long time.
He didn't exactly earn respect doing that did he ? Also by the looks of it he seems proud of the fame, maybe I am stereotyping but his driving licence would be like he has been to Old Trafford a few times this season ( gained a lot of points )

I'm not saying what he did was right or that I respect it, and he should be prosecuted for what he did - that being said, I understand the mentality of a young lad infront of a big crowd and what that can do. No doubt he will learn his lesson.
Very easy for the older people on here to scoff and call him a dick.

I do like casting my rod about the place.

That being said on a serious note I do think it's a bit harsh to hope that he can't afford another car, he might be a very nice chap and just had a moment of stupidity.
First night I went driving I crashed my Corsa into a curb and ripped it's fibreglass combat front bumper off and bodged it with Gaffa tape. I was young and although I rode bikes for years I had only just got a car and got all excited. How do you know it's not similar for him?

Now look at me

The guy is a complete and utter bell end.

I've seen him hand break turn on the high street in the middle of the afternoon.

He drives about flat out in the village I live in and I have had to break test him a few times when he sits on my back bumper.

I hope his insurance sees all the videos and refuse to pay out

Being young is not a justification for doing stupid things (Read: being a bell end), its an excuse and a lame one at that. You say "people do stupid things", I'm afraid they don't, You'll find that stupid people do stupid things, they can't help themselves, they're dim witted, it is in their DNA.

I doubt he will embarrassed by this at all and next week he will be found standing in another Supermarket car park goading another similarly monosyllabic, hoody wearing yoof to rev the nuts out of his 15 year Saxo and regaling them with the story of the fire and how he received his ASBO and/or TAG.

Oh happy days!!  :stupid:

I'm not excusing him.
I can just understand the mentality. Big difference.  :stupid:

What is a real shame is he didn't manage to lock himself in it before it went up in smoke removing himself from the gene pool.

judging from the video, seeing all those stood around egging him on, there are many more oxygen thieves to take his place..
