Title: best place for mapping in the southeast
Post by: D8MOA on December 16, 2013, 04:34:23 pm
Spoke to vizeu and they want £250 for a map and rolling road! And another company in colchester want £250 then i speak to AMD who want £500!!! Are they really worth paying double to use them?

Any other mappers in the southeast who are sensible with the price?

Planning to go stage 2 and done a lot of research. AMD are close for me but after reading the forum people advise against it as its a generic map. I will be travelling to R-Tech who have great reviews. A friend of mine also took his BMW 5 Series to them for a DPF delete and map and had a few issues. Engine management light still on till this day. They offered to look at it again but told him he had to wait 5 weeks. So from the research i have done i would avoid AMD.

Well i nearly spelt it correct haha there is a viezu mapper in kent and looking at some of the cars they have done they look pretty well respected!

R-tech is about 2.5hour drive away and only say a stage 1 map is 280bhp where is other people with a stage 1 ed30 are saying they have over 300bhp

I'd be comparing the graphs matey, as peak figures mean very little to actual real world performance.  A well setup 280 map could produce a much faster car than a spikey 300 BHP one. :happy2:

1st thing you need to know, figures mean nothing. A stage 1 map at a well respected vendor is a stage 1 map. Anyone can make the car peak at 400bhp. It won't last long but it can be done :)

I'd look at a guy/company that's got awesome reviews on your engine and go there ignore figures :)

If you took some time to read through the many threads on this subject, all tuners claim different figures but in reality the limit is what the hardware will allow.

Nick @ R-Tech knows the TFSI engine inside out. He will do you the best possible map for your car. Its completely custom and tailored to how you want it to drive. If you want all out torque and the most power, ask for it.

IF your car can make 300bhp, then Nick will give you 300bhp.  Simples.

He will thoroughly health check the car prior to mapping, and offers excellent aftersales if you have any further requirements after its mapped. Its not just a "Flash and dash" generic map that a lot of these "tuners" offer.

There is a reason why people travel from Kent / Southampton to get him to map their car  :happy2:
