Hi I'm Harz.
I put a deposit down on a 58 reg black 3 door GTI today. Should be collecting it tomorrow. It's my first VW, but my brother has a mk4. Always liked Golfs and after today's test drive I don't know why I didn't get one sooner :D
Anyway here's a quick pic

Cheers. Yep looked pretty good close up, but was a very dull day today. I couldn't notice any swirls or marks.

Thanks again for all the welcomes guys. Just realised I wrote that it was a 58 reg in my original post, but its actually a 08 (not that it matters much)...
As for mods, nothing set in stone yet, just thinking out loud... My brother has got me some team Heko wind deflectors for Xmas (or rather he's reimbursed me for a set I've already ordered and got his mrs to wrap them up. At least I know I'm getting something I want )
I need to sort out my tyres coz the car came with 19"s on it and they've got 235s on em and they scrub a bit on dips/rough roads. I'm new to the world of performance mods so need to do a bit more research, but I'm thinking along the lines of air filter/exhaust and a linear remap.
I've had Eibach's pros springs on a couple of cars I've owned before and like the ride quality from them, but was thinking of going for the sportlines for the gti, not sure if they'll work with 19"... Another bit of research I need to do.
I was thinking of changing the head unit, maybe an Alpine with built in sat Nav and Bluetooth/iPod connectivity and amp and sub. Looking forward to it. Just enjoying driving it at the mo :happy2:
