Hey new here!
Does anybody have knowledge of where I can buy myself some side skirts for a 5 door mk5.
PLEASE: they need to be straight fit :indifferent:
Even if straight fit ones don't exist, please send me the link of one where most people from this forum bought/buy theres from!

Main VW dealer.

Do you know how much they charge bro?
Because the other day I called them to buy some exterior door mouldings for my car and they quoted me £40 EACH. So imagine for some side skirts
-
I here the 3 door sides skirts are the one to go for as slightly cheaper
-
They're about £40 each. The mouldings you mentioned are expensive because they are primed for painting.
-
5 door GTI sideskirts are £143.00 from VW main Dealer. I bought them not long ago.
-
Hi mate, is that for the textured black ones or the painted ones?
I've heard you can buy both kinds from the dealers, textured being slightly cheaper?
Cheers.
-
Textured mate. Mines went of to the bodyshop, they didn't even have to sand them, they applied a heavy undercoat & then final coats and they look mint. :happy2:
-
Cheers for the reply dude.
I remember the days when my cousin bought his sideskirs from the dealers for £30 - £40 per side. That was back in 2010 though.

I bought a single GTI textured 5 door skirt about 4 months ago from a dealer for @ £40. Something doesn't add up.

I really do hope there's something that doesn't add up, I'm looking to buy my skirts in the new year, and I don't want to be paying over £100 for both sides.
£40/side seems more like it. :sad1:
-
The sideskirt itself is around £40 ish but the main dealer adds the adaptors and bolts which jacks up the price. I was quoted £161 all in by my local VW dealer!

I think it helps to quote what VW dealer you bought the sideskirts from as reference.

I seem to remember the GTI ones were 40 squids and the R32 ones were 120 squids. it turned out they were exactly the same apart from a tiny detail.

Mine cost around £80 all in.. I can't remember what, but there is something they supply in the kit which isn't really needed, so if you buy the separate parts it totals to less.

The R32 skirts are pre-smoothed and primed for paint I believe. :happy2:

if you buy them from vw, do you have to go and pick them up or do they post it to your house?
-
Pretty sure you can only collect, they didn't offer me any other method
-
Main dealers won't deliver, however if you get an account with TPS they will deliver to you.
All in for 5 door skirts and all the fittings is £140 from TPS and will be more from the dealer.
I got the whole kit, fitting strips and 4x clips for under the car and the skirts off eBay for £120 they were painted silver already so had been professionally sanded and painted so all I needed to do was fill the jacking point markers and the vertical line towards the rear of the skirt and paint them so they now look like the R32 smooth version without the £250 per skirt price tag.
I didn't use the fitting strips in the end and they have stayed on really securely with the foam double sided tape that seals them to the sill of the car and stopped crap getting down there.
A tip when fitting them, don't peel the backing of the above mentioned double sided tape until you have screwed them to the car. Then press them firmly up against the sill and ensure they fit correctly then peel the backing off as you go along sealing them to the car.
Hope that all made sense :signLOL:
