I have a factory stereo in my GTi, i want to install a sub but obviously i dont have the RCA outputs needed, is there a way i can install RCA outputs to the wiring of the stereo?

I had to purchase an install something called a Line Output Converter (LOC) for my last car in which I retained my OEM stereo. It basically takes the speaker inputs and transforms the signal into one suitable for RCA cables:

You can get them for a lot cheaper than that

I found this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_186391_langId_-1_categoryId_265888#tab3
If its what i need i can pick it up instead of waiting for postage, unless the options you have linked will be better quality?

The Halfords one should do the job.

Im using an MTX REQ5 sound processor, also has a feature called smart engage which provides a remote wire for your amps that turns on when sound is detected.
