Not on the same planet as most of you, but I have to start somewhere
MY05 GTI DSG - Magic Black Pearl - Completely Standard
Just had a bath so thought a picture was in order

DIY Wheel job. Discovered that they were replicas, and in a real sorry state too. Not worth the £250 professional repaint - even the guy recommended for the job thought so. So in the end decided to have a go myself. Never done owt like this before so really impressed by the results. Don't know how long they will last either.

Finally the two little cars together. Carol's little rocket 207cc GTI - just a year old with all of 4500 mile on the clock. Women, like the look and colours etc, but don't like driving. :signLOL:

Been over on the DW web site - not a good idea as you end up spending ££££. So the car will be clayed, machine polished (just bought one this aft) then finished with some PB black hole & collinite 476s once I have sorted out the new cat scratches
Don't know what I am going to do with the car yet. Been a bit of a hard 3 weeks, so things must start to get better soon (I hope)
On the provisional list:
New head unit with sat nav - Done- Reversing Camera - Just needs fitting, should be done this week
- Genuine Monza II with VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA
- Cruise Control
- DSG MFSW
- Leather Interior
Kind of hope I don't fall into the slippery slope of tuning, and lowering. Already tempted, but making the car a more comfortable place to be comes first.
Thanks for looking :happy2:

Car looks lovely matey, welcome along!

-
looks good mate, welcome.
I think the wheels look fantastic to say youve done it yourself! :happy2:
-
Thank you, but I do have a little confession. That is the last wheel I did & looks the best.
I did learn a little more with each wheel and refined my technique.
After saying all that I would have another go with some scruffy genuine ones.
Lets see how long they last.

good stuff mate, you'll be better off for doing it! ;)
-
Welcome :drinking:
Nice work on the wheels! :happy2:
-
Thank you everyone
Had a weeks trouble free motoring. (Touching wood) hopefully many more to come.
Plus insurance have approved the claim for old car. No valuation from them yet.
Then onto hassle with GAP.
Sorry for my little moan.

Hi and Welcome :driver:
-
Wheels look good mate, specially for a first time! :happy2: Will probably find they chip easier etc than powdercoat but even if your paying a pro to paint them it would be the same
-
....
A Warm Welcome, mate! :drinking:
Have already had a few post 'chats' with you on the forum :happy2:
But do beware that slippery slope - It is fun but it can get expensive and it's very, very difficult to stop once you start - Seriously!
The standard Mk5 GTI is a great car so you don't have to mod it unless you want to.
