looking at replacing... whats yours?
-
asda one in the top left corner of the windscreen.
Its a Magnetic one, very understated and works very well. and its about £2.
Not a fan of these huge metal ones
-
I have one of the huge metal ones,
I like htem, it was £9 off e bay and has the VW logo etched on the back, very very easy to change the disc, not too chavvy either.
-
simple black backed , make it stealth not highlight it with CF or alu :signLOL:
-
I have the Richbrook aluminium ones. Very good now they have the screw off back. PITA when they were screwed on backs. I have 4 spares sat in the garage at the moment
-
I still have the dealer one, but have been on the lookout for an aluminium one since I bought the car......can't seem to find one I like though. I would have kept my old one but it had .:R32 etched on it so would look out of place

............same here. The old style screw backs drove me mad trying to change the disc.
-
ive just got a plain red one on mine
-
Richbrook Ali and Carbon Fibre on mine :happy2:
-
ive got a Magnetix 1, it doesnt stand out too much, its cheap and its very easy to change the disc :happy2:
-
I have the stealer one too.
-
Perhaps it's time to get some forum ones designed?!
-
I had the Richbrook one that required all the little screws to be removed. Made me lazy.
Now I've just got some random cheapy blue thing that holds the tax disc nicely.

I had the Richbrook one that required all the little screws to be removed.
That's the sort I used to have. VERY fiddly - was forever losing those screws in between the dash and windscreen!
-
Richbrook do a identical twist off version too btw :innocent:
no more mucking around with an allen key

mine has a plastic disc that slides the taxdisc out and then back in, don't need an allan key at all, got it off ebay for bout £12
-
....
I've got the early version Richbrook black alu one but thinking of changing to carbon - A totally unnecessary and pointless expense but who the feck cares!

Mine's aluminium with the VW logo on the back, but it's hexagonal not round so goes with the honeycomb grille etc. Seems to work very well (IMHO anyway!). Got it off fleabay before I even got the car!
-
The one that the dealer put on with the dealer name in big letters
-
Seen a few Alu or black ones on ebay with 'GTI' etched on the back. Only thing is they have over done the GTI logo cos it's far too big IMO.
Shame richbrook don't do a nice suble Alu 'gti' or Edition 30 one.
-
don't suppose anone here has any of the circular sticky pads that attach them to the window, mine have worn out, and none of the shops around me have any?!
-
I think Halfords do them mate or you could try richbrook direct.
-
Richbrook ally twist-back. I bought the spare sticky pads of Ebay.

Tried Halfords, they had about 5 boxes on the shelves, but people have already opened them and helped themselves and they aren't getting anymore, will try the bay (they have everything else!)
-
Im really liking the idea of a orginal dealer holder.. where can I get one? tried ebay and google? - nothing... would the dealer just give me one? or would it even be listed as a part number??
-
ye, they would probably give you one free, its all free advertising for them
-
Think that would br pretty cool, I was toying with getting my number plate done with the original dealers name on, but sticking with my pressed one.
It really winds me up though, my mate has a seat Leon FR, and won't take out the Barlows motors sticker from the rear window where he bought it, don't find that cool at all!
-
I still have my dealer stickers, let's the local traffic wardens know I'm not a tourist :innocent:

....Are tourists called "grockles" by locals in your neck of the woods?
The towns need them for business/income but their clogging up the place is far from popular. Fecking caravanners are the worst.

In my early days of Surfing in Cornwall I had a Local radio sticker in the window just in case anyone took offence..Pre dealer plates of course.
