Title: finding a parasitic battery drain
Post by: karl210 on January 02, 2014, 10:22:58 pm
This isnt for a mk5 im afraid, my girlfriend has a renault megane 2 and sometimes when it rains overnight the battery will be dead in the morning. Infact the car was working fine one day, i washed it and the car wouldnt start straight after. Does anybody have any ideas where to start looking, im gonna have a good look on sunday and ive had a good search on google but cant really find anything. Would like some ammunition what to look at on sunday before i tackle it blindfolded. If i was to attach a multimeter to the battery and wire it through a gromet in the bulkhead, throw water over the car while someone sits in the car with the multimeter to watch out when there is a draw that could help me to start looking in the right direction would this work?

I'd take the scuttle panel off and check the drains mk3 clio were bad for clogging up and damaging the wiper motor

Use a multi meter and pull fuses until it stops
Generally the easiest way.
