I bought my first one in September 2010 , bought my second one in October 2012 , apart from the wing rust on my first one ,  (covered 100% under the goodwill agreement) all I've paid out is for servicing and MOTs. No problems to report in over 3 years.

I bought mine in May 2012 at 38k

It's now on 65k and has never let me down.

Same here I've had 3 now and I've only paid for servicing - vws have always been the most reliable cars I've ever owned

Actually I had to replace a washer pump on my 1st mk5 gti but that was due to a very cold winter and very little screen wash, the water froze and cracked thd pump casing £35 fix

Ours hasn't been good so far. 3 months in (63k miles when bought)

Has needed

New Air con compressor
New diverter valve
All three thermostats replaced
New rear tyre due to very odd wear pattern
Slow puncture repaired on other rear wheel
Passenger door mirror heating stopped working (corroded connections)
Rear window washer hose leaked inside boot trim, required renewal

I expect it's mostly all sorted now but it's been a bit of a pain.

Owned nearly 3 years now... it's covered 125k, around 60k of those I've driven... I won't go into what I've replaced as I may hit a forum Max character count. :surprised:
