Was out tonight in the car had a little blast with an m5 ripped him to pieces lol then pulled up to a stand still tryed putting it into 1st and nothing, if i turn engine off i can select all gears try to start it in gear with the clutch down and it will jump forward
didnt get any slipping or smell.. you reckon release bearing/pressure plate? from what i can remember its a stage 3 drag clutch rated to 560ftlb car has a big turbo and has been running around 500hp for 2500-3000miles and around 7,000miles on k04
heard some bad reviews with the southbend clutches though?
-
Exact same clutch as me. I have ran mine for 8000 hard miles and it has been perfect...touch wood. Interested to hear what it is.

hopefully get it on the ramp in the week mate.. ive always had slight problems with it there was a resistance when trying to really go through the gears when shifting really fast making changes really sloppy
and was very loud but possible that was normal as its the drag version?
-
Has the same problem with my regular clutch last week.
I believe water has got on to the pressure plate and caused it to sieze. Left the engine running and got towed to a garage and all was fine!
Hopefully you have something similar to keep the costs down bud! :happy2:

I have the southbend stage 2 with silent SMF and was experiencing the same issue.
Had to turn off the engine and back on before it would go into first, only happened a couple of times and hasn't happened again to that degree, but there is still some resistance some times and can also pop out of first easily every now again.
Never did any real digging into it, so if yours is going on the ramp would be interested in your findings

Its always the possibility that the ceramic has overheated and stuck to the flywheel. Seen it a few times with southbend. Hence why I won't supply or fit them.
Does the pedal still feel ok, or does it stick down?
If you turn the car off, pop it into 1st then start the car to see if it wants to jolt forwards. Don't do that on your drive though!

Gearbox off and see what's broken. Either the ceramic has melted, rivet has snapped or a spring has snapped. You need a twin plate setup really.
-
what you recommend mate? those clutchmaster twin plate ones any good?
-
What's the melting point of ceramic these days? :scared: Any warranty to claim on?
-
i guess i should have some kind of warranty.. going to be a pain in the ass and time consuming though and heard alot of bad things with SB so probaly going to change now anyway

I've been waiting for a Helix twin plate for a year now. Clutch masters do one. Twin plate is the way forward for you.

whats helix saying mate? not looking to promising?
