Title: iPod Dock MK5 Golf
Post by: Dannvag on January 09, 2014, 05:44:27 pm
Got an iPod dock underneath my armrest in the mk5.

However I have a iPhone 5 which obviously isn't compatible..

It never charged my 4 so I'm not really bothered about that but is there any iPod to Aux cables that work so I can transfer audio?

Thanks

Dan

On ebay, 'iPod female to aux'. No idea if it will work though. Might be better off leaving it and fitting an aux kit, or depending on your head unit rip it out and put an MDI kit in?

Saw that wanted to know which one actually works though that's the issue.

My headunit is the standard mp3 one with silver buttons.

Would this work?

If so where have people routed the wire to?

This is what I bought mate;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grom-iPod-iPhone-female-dock-end-to-3-5mm-male-audio-for-AUX-in-extension-cable-/171199566970

plugged it straight into the armrest dock and into my iphone, away it went.

Mind you, it is a bit fiddly to get it in there. But it works well.
