Title: Xtrons RNS 510 Replica.
Post by: DanMaytee on January 11, 2014, 12:47:02 pm
So I get asked alot of questions about this head unit and I recommend it to quite a lot of people.  I've decided to put together a little video demonstrating a few of the features.

It is a Chinese made unit but I must say it's a very well made unit.  No loose cheap feeling buttons or any of that.  Obviously there are better head units out there that are Non OEM looking but this one is IMO the best Chinese replica one you can buy (I did alot of research before buying it) and the most OEM looking one.  It's great if you want to upgrade to have extras such as RCA outs etc and still have the OEM look.

Here is the video and there is a link in the description to buy it off eBay.

And excuse my taste in music! Haha :)

I'd also like to add I am no way associated with the company selling this unit and I am just recommending it to Mk5 Owners.

It looks ok, and seems to do what it says on the tin... My concerns with head units like this are there cheap user interface and poor iPhone control, I bought a simular one for Last car and I
Found it slow and hard to use...

The UI is actually really nice to use on this.  Nice and responsive and no lag or anything at all.  iPhone control isn't too bad.  I've only ever tried it once or twice though using the girlfriends iPhone.

In the words of Ronnie Barker in Open all hours... what's the per, per, per, per, per, per, per, per... ... how much does it cost?

LOL.  Not seen that in years :).

Think the price is around £260 :)

Do any of these units link in with the Hi-Line display?

Nothing wrong with your taste in music :)

Head unit looks ok and there doesn't seem to much lag but the UI needs some refinement.

Thanksss :) haha.

I admit the UI could be better.  Especially the SD/USB layout.  I really like the splash screen and the home screen though.  I think the new units actually have different software on though looking at the advert.
