Title: re-gapping spark plugs...
Post by: Twiggy on January 16, 2014, 01:52:25 pm
So i have got myself some NGK spark plugs 06H 905 611 A from VW (£59.33 - thought was a little expensive)

I am currently running an Rtech Stage 1 custom map.

Will i need to re-gap the NGK plugs? If so to what?

Also treat myself to the Red coil pack

Ouch at the cost, and they will come pre-gapped, think you can get the NGKs for about £35 delivered, or Nology Silvers for similar pennies. :happy2:

I found dropping the gap on the plugs cured a misfire.

High boost can blow out the spark if the gap is too large. This is mainly relevant to big turbos rather than a K03 though

Good chance the plugs were knocked when fitting. I've done probably 12 sets of plugs (on cars and bikes I've owned) and never had to gap them, Just my 2c others may find different!

Always check the gaps, all it takes is for someone to drop one on its end, and no gap.
