Hi all,
I've recently come across a bit of a weird problem with my ed30 (non xenon).
When you open the car, the headlights and sidelights all come on as usual. But then the drivers side sidelight turns off. When I turn the actual sidelights on, the same bulb does exactly the same - turns on for 5 seconds, then off for the duration.
As a bit of background, I am running LED sidelights and have swapped existing over and bought new ones in an effort to fix this to no avail.
This has forced me to look in the direction of the wiring to the sidelights. Main issue is I am not sure where to trace the wire to. On closer inspection it appears that the wiring shroud behind the intake/washer bottle has been what can only be described as 'nibbled on' - the previous owner lived on a farm and I can only think that mice and rats would flock to the engine bay when it was cold?!
If anyone has an idea of where I would get a wiring diagram for the sidelights that would be most helpful!
Thanks in advance :happy2:

I've had this with led side light bulbs. I swapped to a different set of LEDs.
I think the car senses a fault and disables the circuit.
New set of LEDs sorted it for me.
It never happened with normal bulbs so Dont think it was wiring.

Thanks for the input.
I have tried another set of led sidelights, but I might try the standard bulbs and see if this irons it out.

Emailed you some wiring diagrams :happy2:

Almost guarantee it's the LED bulbs mate.

This has happened to me with 2 different sets of "canbus" LED bulbs, ive just gone back to standard bulbs in the end and it doesnt happen anymore.

Thanks Doylebros!
Haven't had much a of a chance for a fiddle this weekend, I'll give the std ones a go in the week and report back :happy2:

Yeah I'm getting similar with canbus badged led's. only throws an error if the headlights are on auto and its dark so they come on straight away. Throws either the front right turn signal (not led!) or front left parking light (the led sidelight). If I turn the lights off and on the sidelight is fine and error goes, and if I indicate that gets rid of the turn signal one.
Might just fit some normal bulbs - anyone know any that match the Xenon well?

There is no physical difference at the headlight with using Auto Lights or using Manual lights.
The "bulb" knows no differently.
You can get the blue bulbs bundled as part of halogen bulb upgrades from Phillips etc.. they are blue...

Agreed but there's something about them coming on while the car does start up checks that causes the bulb warming. If they are switched off or don't need to come on coz its bright there's no bulb warning!
