Title: Winter use starting Issue ??
Post by: tommy2478 on January 16, 2014, 04:46:17 pm
Hi there got a slight bother, every morning the car is turning over about 2-3 times before firing up then when all warm its fine.... i dont do many miles in the winter literally only just warms up on the trip to the shop.
Got the battery checked and they said it was fine it just needs charging... does the starting problem sound like a battery issue ??
any help appreciated :) :drinking:

Well your short journeys will not help the charging situation and only the best of battery would stand a chance of performing with this style of motoring.

What would worth be a try http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-07C02F94-D4D3CF8D/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=9103

It's a battery conditioner / charger - cheap enough to sort this type of problem.

For my money I would change the battery (as it's at that stage - end of its maintenance free life) if it's been in for five years.
